Congratulations to Merissa and Alex on their gorgeous wedding! From a sweet love story to the perfect proposal, these two have a fairytale story. We are ecstatic to share their beautiful pictures and story with you!
“I waited a full year after the proposal to begin wedding planning. I really wanted to take my time and have our wedding day feel perfect for representing us as a couple. I was not the girl who dreamed of her wedding or planned it growing up. I never really thought about it. So, when I finally did begin planning, I knew I needed to get a dress and wasn't sure what to expect. I went to Mia Grace as my first bridal shop one weekend with my sister-in-law. My stylist was so friendly, helpful, professional and easy to talk to. I tried on lots of dresses and they were all very pretty and I liked the way every single one looked on me- but none of them felt like 'the dress'. I was standing in what I though was the dress, when out of the corner of my eye I saw something sticking out of one of the racks. I asked my stylist if I could try it on, and it was perfect! She added just the right amount of glam to really make the dress feel like mine and I was sold! I was in and out of my first ever bridal appointment and it was a great experience.” – Merissa
Love Story
Merissa was working in a coffee shop and Alex was working in a True Mfg. They had a mutual employee who told Merissa she knew the PERFECT guy for her. He was really sweet, super funny, a little wild, and extremely fit. Merissa agreed to take his number and text him. They decided to go on a movie date. After the movie, Alex dropped Merissa off at the doorstep, gave her a hug, and left. Merissa thought it must have been the worst first date since Alex didn’t make a move, however Alex was just being polite! The couple went on a few more dates before they officially began dating on March 5th, 2014. Then, Alex bought his first house and moved in on July 8th, 2016! Alex spent every free minute renovating their new home. Alex and Merissa both worked hard to finish their degrees. They were definitely busy!
She Said Yes!
It started with the idea to spend New Year’s Eve in Nashville. Alex, Merissa, and two of their friends drove down for a mini vacation filled with country music, dancing, drinking, and good barbecue. One morning, they decided to go visit all of the famous murals to take pictures in front of. They got to the town and walked around searching for all the murals. They found the location of the specific one Alex planned to propose in front of, but the mural was painted over. Alex had to quickly devise a new plan with his friend while they tried to keep Merissa distracted with coffee. Alex decided on a new mural and asked to take a picture with Merissa. She thought they were taking a normal picture, then Alex got down on one knee. They both blacked out for a minute and time stood still. Alex asked Merissa to marry him. Obviously, Merissa said YES! Alex got her the perfect rose gold hexagon halo ring.
Wedding
Merissa and Alex’s wedding was romantic, with tones of blush, gold, and lots of greenery. Everything came together beautifully at Herman Hill. Merissa looked stunning in her dress, Sweet, by designer Beloved by Casablanca. The soft layers on the skirt were romantic and perfectly complemented the beautiful floral lace.
