We are so in love with the photos that Caty sent us from her fabulous wedding! Caty and her new husband, Chris, had a gorgeous vintage wedding in October 2017 and we are so thrilled we could be featured in their very special day! We are beyond excited to share these images as well as their love story with all of our followers!
“Mia Grace was recommended to me by my sister-in-law and I'm so thankful she did! I went there after shopping around at a dozen other boutiques where nothing really stuck out. I was paired with Lexie and she really understood what style I was going for. She pulled a few that were beautiful and, on a whim, pulled a dress that was the color combo I was looking for; champagne underneath with ivory lace. It was perfect except for the fact that it was strapless. Lexie grabbed an off the shoulder, 3/4 length sleeve lace bolero to put over the dress. IT WAS PERFECT! I knew it was the one immediately. She also paired it with a veil that had the same lace as the dress. It was definitely kismet.” - Caty
Their Love Story
Caty and Chris met in July 2012 at a summer BBQ. They immediately became friends and would get together for lunch about once a month! Their lunch dates eventually progressed to going out for a drink after work. After a year of let's-go-out-for-a-drink, Chris finally asked her out on a date, with actual food. It's safe to say that Caty knew he was the one after their first official date!
The Proposal
Fast forward to July 2016, Caty and Chris were headed out to Katie's Pizza and Pasta for her birthday dinner and he suggested that they stop at Forest Park on Art Hill before dinner to share a bottle of wine and chat about our day. Caty didn’t find this unusual since they tend to picnic there and split a bottle or two during the summer. Towards the end of their bottle he handed her a birthday card that had a giant cartoon ring drawn on the front. That's when Caty started to get a bit giggly because that's when she knew what he was up to. He then got down on one knee and asked to spend the rest of their lives together. Caty is pretty sure she said yes and she may have yelled it! She was just really excited!
A Dream Come True
On October 21st, Caty and Chris celebrated their union with a stunning ceremony at the Barnett on Washington surrounded by their loving family and their closest friends. Following this amazing ceremony, this newlywed couple continued to celebrate at Moulin Events! The theme of their wedding was vintage and classic! They had their engagement pictures at a bookstore that had floor to ceiling shelves with a rolling ladder and they wanted that theme to transfer over into their wedding day! Their RSVP cards were designed to look like checkout cards from the library. Their centerpieces at the reception were stacks of old books with lanterns on top! They also incorporated her grandpa’s old typewriters that he used to work on into the décor! Chris and Caty are old souls who love to read! Caty looked absolutely breathtaking in her bridal gown from Allure Bridals! This fabulous design features multitextured lace throughout the entire gown and a dramatic layered train! Caty paired this gown with a beautiful bolero from Allure as well as a veil from Giselle Bridal to complete her classic bridal look!
