Real Mia Grace Bride: Wedding of Kristin and Michael

We are so in love with the photos we received from Kristin and Michael’s gorgeous wedding! The venue is perfectly paired with Kristin’s elegant dress as well as the rich jewel tones! We are so glad that we could be featured is such a fabulous event and we are thrilled to share their love story with the Mia Grace Bridal family!

“Mia Grace was amazing. I did a lot of research about the various boutiques I wanted to go to based upon the style of dress I wanted. On my first day of dress shopping, we went to another local boutique and I found a dress that I really like, but knew I couldn't make a decision until I went to Mia Grace. I worked with Claire who was very knowledgeable and sweet. I love that I was able to look around the store and look at each of the dresses instead of having someone bring dresses to me. Claire provided a tip that most of the strapless gowns could be made to have straps on them during the alterations process. There was an Allure Romance gown that caught my eye and after having that knowledge, I decided to try it on. That dress ended up being the one and I couldn't be happier with it. I'll forever be in love with my wedding dress.” – Kristin

Their Love Story

Kristin and Mike met in high school and they had several mutual friends, but didn’t meet until the last day of his senior year in 2007! They said a quick hello and goodbye, signed each other’s year books, and didn’t see each other again until the summer of 2008 (a few months after she graduated high school). They spent most of the summer with our mutual friends and at the time, they were both interested in someone else. They reconnected again in April 2009 after both of their relationships ended and started dating! Mike officially asked her to be his girlfriend on July 25, 2009 at a friend’s wedding!

The Proposal

On their 7th anniversary, Mike recreated their first date! They started the day at O’Connell’s Pub and sat in the same booth they were in on their first date! Afterwards, they went to the Botanical Gardens and walked around while reminiscing about the last 7 years. Mike proposed in the English Gardens in a secluded area over a small stream! Kristin was personally shocked because for years they had always discussed never getting engaged until they purchased a home together. She was surprised during the engagement to find Mike’s youngest sister, Jane, taking photos of the proposal! During their first date, they ended the night at Ted Drewes, but after all of the excitement, they skipped ice cream and immediately went home to share the news with their friends and family members.

What a Beautiful Wedding!

On October 5th, Kristin and Michael celebrated their union at Haue Valley surrounded by their loving friends and family! Their venue was more on the rustic side so they considered the theme to be rustic elegance! While Kristen feels most rustic themes are on the casual side, they didn’t work with a lot of lace of burlap fabrics. They used rich jewel tones and metallic golds instead. They chose navy and wine for their accent colors and felt that the colors/backdrop of the venue allowed for more simplistic decorations. They felt the colors, flowers, and the venue did most of the work for them! Kristin looked absolutely breathtaking in her bridal gown from the Allure Romance Collection, which features a fitted bodice and a true sweetheart neckline with intricate embellishments! This gorgeous fit and flare gown also features a beautiful scalloped hemline and covered buttons down the entire back of this phenomenal design! She also wore a beautiful veil from Giselle Bridal, which has a simple crystal and pearl trim. Their wonderful wedding was created the work from the following vendors:

Thank you so much Kristin and Michael for allowing all of us at Mia Grace Bridal help make your wedding day a dream come true!
